Saputo Dairy UK says it intended to shut its Wensleydale Creamery plant in Kirkby Malzeard in Yorkshire, and relocate the cheese packing work to Nuneaton in the Midlands, according to a report on the local BBC website. It will continue to make cheese at Hawes (Yorkshire), where the main plant for Wensleydale Creamery is, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service. The Canadian dairy giant purchased Wensleydale Dairy Products in 2021 for £23 million (€27.3 million).
