BioPak has announced a partnership with Australian ice-cream company, Everest, launching a rollout across the UK to deliver more sustainable packaging solutions with every scoop.

Everest will transition from plastic to FSC-certified paper ice cream cups, delivering the same quality and craftsmanship with a lighter environmental footprint.

Alongside the cups, the partnership will also introduce a first-of-its-kind FSC-certified birchwood spoon, custom-designed by BioPak to fit within Everest’s iconic dixie-style serve. This spoon-in-lid solution eliminates the need for individual plastic spoons, marking a step forward in sustainable convenience for foodservice partners.

BioPak Group’s new CEO, Guy Brent, commented on the new partnership.

“At BioPak, we’re focused on innovation that drives meaningful change and performance excellence, and we’re proud to work with brands such as Everest that share our vision and are willing to push the boundaries to support sustainable, circular solutions,” said Brent.

Andy Drewery, national corporate account manager at BioPak further highlighted the significance of the relationship between both companies.

“We’ve been big fans of Everest for a number of years, so when the opportunity arose for them to explore a more sustainable packaging solution for their ice cream, it felt like a natural fit. As two customer-centric brands, we are truly aligned in values and committed to delivering quality without compromise.”

Everest’s head of food service channel, Doug Whitlock, also commented on this packaging evolution.

“Everest is part of the Summit Group, a proudly Australian owned business, and we’re thrilled to be working with industry leaders such as BioPak to help us achieve our sustainability goals, all while delivering the same great taste and craftsmanship that our customers know and love. We’re proud to take this step and lead by example in our industry.” said Whitlock.

A standout feature of Everest’s new ice cream cups are their durability; made from renewable FSC paper while maintaining the same integrity and functionality of plastic. The two-in-one design, featuring an integrated spoon, further reduces reliance on plastic.

The 110ml serve is rolling out nationally across airlines, convenience stores and QSR outlets in March 2026. This will be the first of several sustainable packaging initiatives Everest plans to introduce across its distinctive product range.
