Somerdale International, an exporter of British cheese to over 50 countries around the globe, is showcasing and sampling its existing range of classic and contemporary British cheeses, along with launching a number of new cheeses at the FHA, Food & Hospitality Asia show, being held at the Singapore Expo between 21-24 April (stand FJ3-01).
The range of waxed 150g truckles will feature the following seven blends: Ginger Blossom, a mature English Cheddar with Blossom Honey & Crystallised Ginger; The Lazy Mule, mature English Cheddar with Hot Sweet Green & Red Jalapeno chillis; The Musketeer, mature English Cheddar & Charcoal; The Talisman, mature English Cheddar with Black Truffles; The Brunswick, mature English Cheddar with Sage & Red onion; Harlech, mature Welsh Cheddar with Horseradish and Parsley; and Y-Fenni, Mature Welsh Cheddar with Wholegrain Mustard and Ale
The range has been made for Somerdale by its cheese making partner Croome Cheese. New for FHA will also be the launch of Barber’s British Mature Farmhouse Cheddar cheese slices. Each pack contains 250g of sliced farmhouse cheddar, which has been carefully matured for around 12 months.
Somerdale will also be launching a new British Cheese stick selection pack at FHA to respond to a growing demand for snacking cheese in the SE Asian and Asia Pacific markets. Each net bag will contain six mini, individually wrapped, 20g sticks of British cheese.
Stephen Jones, head of sales for Asia Pacific and Far East at Somerdale International comments, “With 2,750 exhibitors and an expected 80,000 trade visitors from 96 countries and regions, FHA is rightly considered as a key gateway to access the SE Asia and Asia Pacific market. Somerdale already has a strong presence in the region with a growing customer base in countries such as China, Malaysia, South Korea and Taiwan, as well as, of course, Singapore and we are committed to building upon this. Indeed, we are expecting to see strong interest from buyers from across the region seeking out not only traditional British cheeses and dairy products but also more contemporary ones featuring innovative blends, tastes and textures.”
