On World Environment Day, Tetra Pak launched its FY25 Sustainability Report. The report shows that Tetra Pak reduced greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 34% since 2019, marking an improvement of almost 12 percentage points compared with the previous year. As the company focuses on supporting greater food system resilience through emissions reduction, it also has achieved a 56% reduction in emissions across Tetra Pak’s own operations, as well as reaching 97% renewable energy consumption.

The year 2025 saw Tetra Pak launch an integrated climate and nature risk and opportunity assessment designed to identify priority risks and opportunities across its operations and value chain.

Other highlights from the report include initiatives to help customers reduce energy and material usage, such as the launch of Tetra Pak Factory OS, a digital and automation ecosystem designed to help food and beverage manufacturers improve operational efficiency. Additionally, an expanded global innovation network, including new centres in France, Thailand and Sweden was developed, along with a €100 million investment in packaging R&D, including the development of a paper barrier for juice packages with a 43% lower carbon footprint than equivalent aseptic cartons containing an aluminium layer. Ecosystem restoration has also been underway, with more than 1,600 hectares added to the Araucaria Conservation Project in 2025 alone. Tetra Pak’s school feeding programmes are now reaching 68 million children across 52 countries, an increase from the previous year, it says.
