Officials at Matanuska Creamery say milk sales are up and they’re working on new lines in an effort to drive sales further.

The US creamery is selling around 1,600 gallons of milk a day, about 3,000 gallons more each month than it did a year ago.
The Palmer-based dairy started up in 2008 after state-run dairy Matanuska Maid closed, leaving Valley dairy owners with nowhere to sell their milk.
Federal and state funding was used to help setup the creamery, along with money contributed by the company owners.
General manager and co-owner of the creamery, Karen Olson, said the creamery wants to grow and is constantly testing new products. However, it can only expand when money becomes available.
