Amul chairman removed from post

India’s Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) has removed its chairman, Vipul Chaudhary, citing “irregularities of running the board” as one of the reasons. He had appealed against a December no-confidence vote by the members of GCMMF, but his plea was rejected on 6 January. However, Chaudhary still is the chairman of the Dudhsagar Dairy, a member of the GCMMF.
