The impending post-quota European landscape as many participants in the dairy industry thinking about what their prospects are. How much impact will unimpeded milk production have, and where will the outlets for the extra milk be? In some countries such as Ireland, it may unleash a thriving export market. Dale Farms’ Dr Dobbins shares with readers what its plans and hopes are post-quota, as Ireland as a whole prepares to ramp up milk production. See his interview in the next issue of Dairy Industries.

Also in Europe, global dairy industry participants are getting ready for the once every three year event that is Anuga FoodTec in Cologne. Once again, we will be able to see the latest in food and drink technology, from new machines to new ideas for processing. Please visit us at the show, on the Boulevard, Stand A12.

As you also may have noticed, our 77 years young magazine now has a new look to go with our Anuga preview issue. It’s part of our continued drive to give our readers the latest and most up-to-date information in a readable package. Let us know what you think of it and keep an eye out for further developments on all of our platforms.

Finally, I’d like to extend a big welcome to our two new editorial board directors, Donald Moore, the executive director of the Global Dairy Platform, and Richard Doyle, president of the International Dairy Federation. It is a pleasure to have these two join our already-illustrious board.
