New Zealand-based dairy giant Fonterra and GE Healthcare Lunar, a bone assessment technology business, have formed a joint venture to promote the Anlene Bone Health Check, a consumer awareness campaign.

The Anlene programme is providing free ultrasound bone health screenings to an estimated 3m people across nine Asian countries over the next two years. The next phase is likely to extend to Australian and New Zealand. The programme will capture a bank of data on bone health that will be shared with other agencies addressing osteoporosis and bone health problems. The programme will be screening in shopping malls, workplaces and the streets throughout the countries.
