Skim milk for hypertension drop
Skimmed milk and other non-fat milk products can halve the risk of hypertension, according to researchers at the University of Navarra.
However, their findings, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, do not say the same about whole milk.
The researchers studied 6,000 people over two years. Those with an elevated consumption of skimmed milk and milk products showed a reduction of 50% in their risk of developing hypertension, compared with those with a low consumption or who did not consume these products. There was no link demonstrated between whole milk and reduced hypertension.
