AUSTRALIA – National Foods has announced that it will buy Bonlac’s UHT flavoured milk plant in Cobden, Victoria, for an undisclosed sum.

The company said that it had made the move in order to expand its presence in the flavoured milk and general milks market.

The purchase will be of significant value to National Foods, allowing it to break into long-life flavoured milk drinks. The flavoured milks produced by the company to date are sold and distributed chilled.

The company said the new plant will allow it to expand into a number of distribution channels, such as take-aways, vending machines, schools and a wider range of retail outlets.
