INDIA – Amrit Foods, a division of the Amrit Banaspati group, is in talks with major European dairies about a joint venture to manufacture and sell milk and milk products in Europe.

The company is seeking a partner to help in its bid to sell its UHT cream, ready-to-eat desserts, puddings and shakes.

Amrit’s flagship brand is UHT milk Gagan, and the company is looking to exploit its success by selling it outside of India. It intends to supply the UHT milk and products to a European company, who would package and distribute them.

Its Ghaziabad plant has potential capacity of 80,000 litres of long-life milk and milk products a day, but currently uses only 35% of that, according to the company.
