NEW ZEALAND – Dairy co-operative Fonterra has today said that it is to go to the High Court over claims by biotechnology A2 that milk with the A1 beta-casein causes the negative health effects.

Fonterra chief technology officer Chris Mallett said that food safety regulators were the appropriate statutory authorities to deal with the issues raised by A2 Corporation “A2 Corporation’s claims are irresponsible because they may result in people removing normal milk from their diet to the detriment of their overall health and well being,” he said.
