Polish potential and dairy strength

The news that Poland is now one of the EU’s largest dairy suppliers comes as no surprise to those within the industry. The infrastructure is well-suited to dairy and grazing and the input costs are lower than in the rest of the member states. Indeed, Poland has showed the rest of the world what becoming a member of the European Union can do for a country.Meanwhile, dairy prices are on the up, further fuelling investment. It is sometimes hard to remember about the bad times when farmers are receiving decent rates, but there is always something to spend money on at the farm. And, farmers in Somerset here in the UK know well that the weather can make fools of us all.
