The Chinese Hangzhou Arbitration Commission has requested Danone to terminate its trademark transfer contract with Chinese beverage maker Wahaha Group with potentially great impact.

Danone said it was “shocked” by the ruling in the eastern province of Zhejiang and is currently considering an appeal.
In one of the most high-profile disputes between a foreign company and a Chinese partner, Danone and Wahaha have been exchanging accusations and lawsuits for months. The French company has accused Wahaha of setting up parallel operations outside their ventures that sell Wahaha-branded products.
