Danone plans to expand yogurt production at its Chekhov plant, located outside Moscow.

The capacity of the existing plant is expected to increase by up to 400 thousand tons, which will make it the largest asset of the company. Presently, Danone’s biggest plant is in Mexico.
The company also has stakes in Russia’s Wimm Bill Dann Foods. This increased in June 2007 to 18.3%, securing Danone a seat on the board of directors.
