Long Clawson launches Claxstone brand cheese range

Long Clawson used the occasion of the International Cheese Show in Nantwich to launch its Claxstone range of artisanal cheeses. Janice Breedon, the marketing manager for Long Clawson, says the brand has been under development for the past two years. “We felt there were gaps in the market for premium cheese and the opportunity to give consumers a totally British cheese board with these products. We looked at taste, perception, and what people thought of the product and the packaging.” Claxstone Smooth Blue took away the supreme champion in the speciality cheese category at the Bath & West Show while Claxstone Blue Stilton received gold in the European category. The introduction into deli counters nationwide is being supported with packaging and peel and reveal tags. The brand is currently also in Waitrose and M&S supermarkets in the UK. There is also a selection of leaflets for the consumer. “The key thing is that people like having a story to tell about the cheeses they’re serving to their guests,” Breedon points out.
