USA – New Jersey dairy company Farmland has risen from bankruptcy in less than 14 months and reorganised around its fresh milk and dairy products business in the Northeast and its national aseptic milk products business, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Farmland’s president Martin Margherio, said: “I am very pleased to announce the end of the bankruptcy proceedings and our renewed commitment to growing the ‘new’ Farmland Dairies. The bankruptcy process, although not a pleasant experience, allowed us time to dig into the core of our business and assess the manner in which we operated, and as a result, we have emerged a much stronger and more focused company.” The company’s Wallington, New Jersey location is the largest HACCP certified fluid milk plant in the US. The equity of the emerged Farmland will be majority owned by the company’s pre-petition leasing syndicate led by GE Commercial Finance, Public Finance.
