Emmi buys US goat milk firm

Swiss dairy group Emmi is continuing its niche strategy and has now acquired the US-based goat milk producer Jackson-Mitchell (also known as Meyenberg).
Since 2010, Emmi has enlarged its foreign goat milk network, which includes the producers Cypress Grove and Redwood Hill Farm & Creamery in the US, Bettinehoeve and Goat Milk Powder in the Netherlands, Lácteos Caprinos in Spain and now also Jackson-Mitchell. The AVH Dairy, a global trading company domiciled in the Netherlands, is also part of the Emmi network.
Jackson-Mitchell is a leading supplier of goat’s milk, condensed milk and goat’s milk powder in the US. Meyenberg distributes its products nationwide. The sale of these products is mainly via national supermarket chains, but also online (via Amazon), as well as in regional retailers and speciality stores. The yearly turnover is almost $30 million (€28m).
