Boom-time for organic produce in Denmark

The production of organic milk in Denmark is expected to exceed 6% of total national milk output by the end of next year.
In 1990, some 60 Danish organic dairy farmers produced 15 million kg of milk for the domestic market. This year, the number of organic milk producers has soared to 330, with another 250 expected to make a full transition into the system by the end of this year. The amount of organic milk produced in Denmark during 1999 is expected to reach around 280 million kg
