Somerset based dairy brand, Tom Parker Creamery, known for its free-range flavoured milks, Bedtime Milk, Vitamin Enriched Whole Milk and Unhomogenised Whole Milk, sourced from farms within a 90-mile radius, is strengthening its roots in the southwest and expanding distribution to independent outlets across the region.

Working in partnership with Hunts Foodservice, the creamery’s range is now reaching a growing network of petrol stations, large retail forecourts, farm shops, delis, cafés and independent retailers throughout the southwest.

For the team at Tom Parker Creamery, the expansion feels like a natural step. Their range of milk and cream products is produced using traditional methods that preserve its natural character and retailed in glass bottles with paper labels, which reflects a commitment to sustainability and evokes the tradition of founder Tom Parker’s original milk deliveries.

Importantly, the move reflects what the creamery says is strong demand from both retailers and shoppers for fresh, locally sourced whole milk, rather than long-life alternatives.

“Across the southwest we’re seeing a real appetite for proper, fresh whole milk,” said Rob Yates, managing director of Tom Parker Creamery. “UHT milk simply isn’t what many local customers want to buy, and independent retailers tell us the same thing. People here care about provenance, freshness and supporting local producers.”

The partnership with Hunts Foodservice will enable Tom Parker Creamery to reach a broader range of outlets that share these values. From roadside forecourts to village delis and farm shops, the milk is appearing in places where customers actively seek out regional food and drink.

As a regional dairy employing 25 people locally, the business says keeping its supply chain close to home is central to its ethos.

“Getting our milk into southwest shops, cafés and businesses just feels right,” Rob Yates added. “These are businesses run by people who care about quality and about supporting their local economy. That’s exactly what we care about too.”

With demand for minimally processed foods continuing to grow, Tom Parker Creamery believes the southwest market is perfectly aligned with its approach: fresh milk, local farms and a product that stays true to its natural roots.

As more consumers turn back to simple, authentic foods, the creamery’s regional expansion signals a growing appetite for milk that is both local and full of character.
