Two milestones that are redefining what “best practice” looks like in hygienic engineering have been reached by Gemak. The first is 100% weld traceability, with every single weld, fully tracked and verified, the company says. Across both its manufacturing facilities and site installations, each weld is uniquely numbered and mapped on isometric drawings, linked to the individual welder, internally inspected with boroscope imaging and logged with a clear pass/fail result. Every project is now delivered with a complete weld report, giving customers transparency and traceability in line with EHEDG standards.

In the second instance, the company is said to be delivering up to 80% weld-free installations. Gemak says it is consistently achieving up to 80% weld-free pipework on skid-mounted systems (1.5”, 2”, and 2.5”). By pushing tube bending further, the results are reducing contamination risks, improving cleanability, and increasing long-term system reliability.

Gemak notes that this matters because every weld carries risk. Thus, every improvement in traceability and design directly impacts product safety and operational performance. The combination of 100% weld verification and high weld-free design is a major step forward for the industry, the company notes.
