Dairy is not only a key part of the western diet, it can also act as an agent for change in areas of the world where the market is less developed. To help collate knowledge about research and training, Agreenium, a French research body, together with CoRFiLaC (Consorzio Ricerca Filiera Lattiero Cascaria), have organised the first international meeting on “Milk,Vector of Development,” being held 21-23 May in Rennes, France.

The conference will be held in French with English translations and will look at items as diverse as the promotion for small and medium sized dairy farms in Afghanistan, to milks of the world. Dairy-related public policies will be looked at, and sustainability of the dairy sector in Central America.

It promises to be very informative. The emerging markets are the future of dairy, and more information shared is welcome. Please see for further details: https://colloque.inra.fr/lait2014_eng
