We’ve gone to press on the latest issue and it’s a corker. The supplier profile is one of our largest issues of the year, and it is always interesting to feature our suppliers and their wares on the pages of the magazine. Everything from testing to tanks and vats are represented in the pages. Pick up a copy for a treat.

Meanwhile, the dairy ban rumbles on. One story I enjoyed was from the BBC, of a Swiss cheese producer, who has received calls from Russian distributors asking him to make more mozzarella to fill the shelves in Russian stores. Trouble is, most Swiss cheese makers are small collectives, and can not increase their supply to fill the void left by the mozzarella makers of the banned European Union. Another problem was that the cheese maker in question only made Gruyere.

But it is the law of unintended consequences, and while the Swiss will welcome some extra benefit due to not being held to ransom by the Russian ban, it is unlikely that the cheese makers will be able to profit.
