Safety report queries at Mengniu ice cream plant

Mengniu of China has admitted the existence of safety irregularities at the factory of its ice cream supplier Tianfu Dairy, in response to a safety report which was posted online, according to a report in Food Business Review. A student from Xi’an University had published an internship report, revealing unhygienic conditions at Tianfu Dairy, which is an ice cream supplier in Inner Mongolia to Mengniu.

In response, Mengniu say it will request Tianfu to correct the irregularities and improve its conditions within 48 hours. In addition, the company said that it will launch a nationwide inspection of all of its ice cream processing suppliers.
