Brazilian dairy co-op Cemil to boost production

Dairy products cooperative Cemil has invested $5 million (€3.4m) in its Patos de Minas milk processing plant to boost capacity from 300,000 to 400,000 litres per day. The company will invest in equipment from SIG Combibloc and Tetra Pak.

Furthermore, Cemil also has plans to build a new plant this year to produce powdered milk and powdered milk serum for about R$45 million (€17m).

Meanwhile, the Brazilian dairy firm is also seeking to resume its production of cheese products and invest to set up a 200,000 litre-per-year milk plant in Caruaru.
