Hear hear Dairy UK
Dairy UK chief executive Dr Judith Bryans’ speech asking for coherence from British government departments about dairy could not be better timed. “Asking the industry to grow on the one hand and knocking the nutritional benefits of much loved products like cheese and yogurt, with their age-old traditions in the UK, on the other, it sends mixed signals to the industry about government support,” she said at the All Party Parliamentary Cheese Group reception in London recently.
It is too true. You can’t ask people to eat more dairy and then knock it for fat and salt content, as often happens in the case of cheese. Dairy UK is launching an initiative, ‘Dairy Makes a Difference,’ which will showcase different aspects of the dairy industry. Agriculture and its products must be supported people¹s livelihoods and their health as well, is at stake. Well done, Dairy UK.
