Milk top of German children’s list
A survey this year of children between six and 13 years old in Germany has indicated that fresh milk remains firmly established as the favourite drink for young consumers.
Sixty-nine per cent of those questioned affirming that they drank milk every day or at least during several days per week. This was exactly the same response recorded in 2002 for the six to 13 year old sector, which now represents 5.98 million consumers in the country. The survey, organised by publisher Egmont-Ehapa, identified fruit juices as second most favoured drink for German children with 68 per cent of respondents claiming daily consumption. But this result indicated a drop of 4 per cent of fruit juice popularity since 2002. Lemonade also showed a drop in popularity with German children: 63 per cent of respondents claimed daily consumption compared with 67 per cent three years ago.
