Dairy resolutions for 2015

Dairy, according to New Nutrition Business, is set to be one of the key trends among consumers this year. This is due to its status as nature’s health food, as Julian Mellentin calls it. High in protein, gluten-free and containing the kind of good fat most products can only dream of, dairy’s star is set to shine in a variety of products. This is all good news for the processors.
The only depressing thing I can find is the endless supply of articles this time of year that advise you to “cut out dairy and wheat.” As I’ve said before, lactose intolerance is a tough disease, as is being celiac or gluten-intolerant. However, most people can indulge in a good bit of bread or cheese (most of which contains no lactose or little of it, as it drains off in the whey when making cheese) and they should do.
And, while I enjoy an avocado as much as the next person, I thought I would go mad when I opened up yet another magazine with another diet in it, advocating the avocado. With seeds sprinkled on it, obviously.
My New Year’s resolution has to be to not read any more of these articles. I think that’s one that I will actually stick to.
