Promoting the yogurt

I went to see a comedian on Friday night, and imagine my surprise and delight when he not only pointed out the sponsor, Onken, but there were also intermission adverts on the main screen, describing the ways in which the comedian enjoyed his yogurt while on the road. He was also very entertaining. My sole disappointment is the yogurts were not on offer during the intermission, but neither was the usual West End ice cream.

This week I am off to IFE at the Excel in London. This is an opportunity to see and taste first-hand, what new products there are on offer, both in and outside of the dairy aisles. I look forward to trying new treats from various producers. In addition to dried fruits and seaweed permutations, there is also diced and cubed French cheeses on offer, as well as a fondue. Another one I’ll seek out is the buffalo milk products, in yogurt and kefir.

Double ice cream sticks also seem to be a highlight of the show, which I look forward to seeing. These Magnum-type products are becoming quite a treat for the ice cream sector, it seems.

There will also be an Isle of Man Creamery talk and we hope to have an interview for you next week from this. So, a lot to look out for here in London this week at IFE.

This first show begins some time on the road, with a trip up north to the SDT’s Spring Conference next week. Hope to see you there, where we will have copies of both the March and April issues. complete with our previews of our upcoming Dairy Industries Expo. This is beginning to fill up fast, which is gratifying and looking forward to seeing you all out and about.
