With labour availability and skills shortages continuing to challenge manufacturers worldwide, simplified line design and reduced manual intervention can help maintain throughput while easing the load on operators and maintenance teams, say conveyor manufacturers.
For its part TNA is unveiling on-stand (hall 14, stand C56 & D56) at the upcoming interpack in Germany (5-17 May) new intelligent, integrated solutions to help producers future-proof their production lines without adding complexity or increasing the burden on already stretched workforces. The showcase will focus on line-level thinking, demonstrating how packaging, seasoning, distribution, confectionery, processing, and digital technologies deliver the greatest value when engineered as part of a connected ecosystem.

The latest development in TNA’s packaging portfolio is the new tna roflo conveying technology. Intelligent integration enables smoother product flow, fewer stoppages and faster recovery when conditions change, helping manufacturers protect productivity and reduce operational strain.
Digital tools are becoming essential across food manufacturing, but complexity remains a barrier to adoption. At interpack, TNA will demonstrate how digitalisation can support, rather than overwhelm operators, with clearer interfaces, improved visibility and more intuitive control.
A key highlight of the stand will be tna intelli‑assist, an immersive extended‑reality (XR) experience that allows visitors to visualise how simplicity at line level improves performance from product flow and control points to system interaction and future upgrades, when technologies are designed as a whole.
Meanwhile, the chamber belt vacuum machines from the Conveyor Pro series of BMB Packaging Solutions (hall 5, stand E37) are versatile machines, with durable construction, and allow automatic and uninterrupted packaging of large batches in bags of any product, food or non-food.
The automatic feeding belt decouples the loading process from the packaging process, therefore the products can be positioned on the belt during vacuuming, both manually and by automatic loading systems such as robots or conveyors.
Due to the latest generation design and efficiency, the chamber belt machine can handle very high volumes. The available models differ by the number, the length and the distance between the sealing bars and by the corresponding dimension of the vacuum chamber. The vacuum chamber can be equipped with three sealing bars, so its dimensions can be fully utilised and it can be loaded from both sides.
The user interface with a seven-inch touch-screen colour play is characterised by its user-friendliness; it was developed completely in-house and offers up to 99 memory locations. The PLC control system processes all operating parameters extremely quickly and flexibly; the Ethernet connection allows remote access to the working data and connection of the machine to the company network to meet Industry 4.0 requirements.
The vacuum pump unit is selected according to the customer’s technical requirements and can be connected to a central vacuum pump. In all models, the vacuum is controlled by a standard absolute sensor.
The housing of the machine is made of stainless steel UNI EN 1.4301 with easy cleaning system by quick release from the belt, automatic water drain and electrical cabinet IP67 / NEMA 4 protected. All the chamber belt vacuum machines of the Conveyor Pro series are available with additional options such as soft air for a progressive ventilation of the chamber, adjustment of the sealing bars for products with different dimensions, bi-active sealing top/bottom “Twin Seal” or “Wide Seal” and cutting of the excess film complete with residual suction.
It will convey a range of products, food as well as non-food, in bags with different film thicknesses, formats and materials, such as the “eco-friendly” bags. Any type of bag (PA/PE – OPA/PP – aluminium), smooth or gaffed vacuum bags, shrink bags, with different film thicknesses can be easily and simply used, due to the adjusting of the seal strength, standard on all models.
In hall 3 on stand A54, Weisshaar is showing its pneumatic conveying with process air cooling and drying systems. Powdery substances are efficiently conveyed pneumatically in the food industry today. Hygroscopic media requires a lowered dew point of the conveying air to enable conveying. Weisshaar offer solutions for different tasks: standardised devices in compact designs – the range of LK, LKTA or LKL process air coolers cover a wide range of requirements. Customised Weisshaar devices are also primarily used in the area of process air conditioning, wherever conventional technical building systems cannot provide satisfactory solutions. In addition to a wide performance range, these air-conditioning units can be adapted to meet customer-specific factory standards or specific hygiene requirements.
