Saputo shopping after Warrnambool buy
Canadian cheese giant Saputo has declared a 10.8% increase in net earnings for its third quarter results, amounting to C$144.4m (€95.9m) for the term. Expansion is well underway. Saputo adds milk business in Canada
Saputo has signed a C$61 million (€41m) deal to buy the milk business of Nova Scotia’s Scotsburn Co-operative Services. Scotsburn will keep its ice cream and frozen novelties business. Saputo offers more for Warrnambool Cheese
Canadian dairy giant Saputo has extended its offer for Warrnambool Cheese and Butter in Australia, meaning its A$515 million (€336.7m) bid is live until 22 January. It owns 21.39% of the firm. The offer keeps it ahead of rival bidder Murray Goulburn of Australia, which currently has 17.7% of the firm’s shares.
