The uphill battle

The summer news as it trickles here into Dairy industries International Towers is not all that encouraging. When one is in dire straits, there is always a temptation to think that others have it a bit better. Somewhere else, you surmise, would be easier. Er, in the case of dairy, maybe not. Recent reports from the US with its extreme weather, along with news of reduced milk deliveries in Germany, means that dairy prices for end products will be increasing globally. Good news, if processors can scrape some of the increased prices for themselves, but probably not. All the summer holidays were a break from what promises to be grim news in the autumn.

However, there is one last hurrah before we get back to our usual round of glum faces – the Paralympics. I would guess that all of the participants to these games already know how to fight an uphill battle, more than most people. We have our tickets and will be cheering on Team GB. We will clutch our Mandevilles and yell ourselves hoarse.
