New packages, more options

The variety of dairy products out there is staggering. Interestingly, I am finding dairy in all sorts of places where previously it would have been confined to the chill cabinet.­ Fuel breakfast drink is one of them. Grab a Tetra Pak and go with its caramel lattes and other ambient treats. Products that normally one wouldn’t think of as masculine or feminine are getting a makeover. The Fuel range in the UK is a good example of a male-oriented package, all black label and blocky lettering. Word has it Danone is going to expand its Bulgarian yogurt for men line to other countries as well.

Meanwhile, products that normally one does not associate with dairy have expanded their offerings to include a dairy option ­ witness, for example, the introduction of Jelly Belly milkshakes. Once a sweet, now a dairy drink. It is a clever way of also tying the inherent health benefit of milk and dairy into your product too.

All in all, it makes for exciting times down at the local supermarket. I
can¹t wait to see what they come up with next.
