Uelzena merges subsidiaries

German dairy group Uelzena has bundled its sales activities in the dairy products business segment for the baking trade, with the merger of Trilactis and Hoche Butter.

Until recently, the Uelzena Group has been active in the butter and butterfat market as well as the cheese segment for the bakery and butchery trade and related wholesalers via Trilactis and Hoche Butter. Both companies have been among the market leaders in Germany in this product segment for decades.

Hoche Butter will now be responsible for sole distribution within the Uelzena Group to customer groups in the baking trade, specialist wholesaling, fresh food services and the centres of food retailing. The aim is to optimise the organisation and customer care in the dairy products business unit within the group.

Distribution to industrial customers will continue as before through Uelzena.

The product ranges of both distribution companies will be merged, with butter and butterfat being marketed largely under the brand name Hoche Butter, while the Trilctis brand will continue to feature cheeses.
