German exports up in EU

Due to weather conditions, the German milk market has been able to stabilise in June, so that sales in the butter, cheese and fresh milk products segments are fine, according to the Association of Milk Producers of Bavaria.

The export business for dairy products on the EU internal market, as well as for exports to third countries, is increasing. As a result, the price level are mostly assertive. The marketing of milk powder in Germany and abroad remains promising, with fixed revenues, the association notes.

Milk fat sales have improved in June, especially in the consumer segment of private households. Sales levels in the liquid milk fat segment are still positive, although the demand for ice cream has declined somewhat due to a brief rainy season in Germany.
